How many times has your hike been spoiled by rain, or the view you wanted to see been blocked by clouds? Understanding the weather is critical to enjoying a perfect hike, and we want to help you with that.
We’re launching a campaign to provide hundreds of thousands of hikers across the Carolinas with real-time weather forecasts through a series of new maps and interactive tools. We began our foray into the hiking world with the Blue Ridge Parkway Closures map, and we’ve heard your feedback that you want more hiking content! Over the coming weeks and months, this page will serve as the home for every new hiking tool we release.
To start things off, here’s a taste of what we’re developing. Visit the State Park Weather page for official National Weather Service forecasts at every state park in North Carolina. This tool is still in the development phase, so expect some updates in the near future.
